The Fabrications
1. Peter Zumthor | Therme Vals
The Basswood represents the dramatic landscape surrounding the structure, horizontally placed Bamboo Sheets represent the walls which are made from layer upon layer of locally quarried Valser Quartz slabs, Bamboo also represents the cantilevered concrete roof units which appear to be floating.
2. Lundgaard & Tranberg Architects | Tietgen Student Residence
The 1:200 diagram model highlights the horizontal connection between the private rooms and the communal facilities available on each level. The common rooms and hallways are orientated towards the inner courtyard which is by the pointy end of the the model.
3. 600-610 Elizabeth Street Redfern | Site Model
The circular site model at 1:1000, stained poplar plywood represents the base and contours, engraving represents the footpath and adjacent Redfern park and basswood and 3d printing with white paint finish represent the surrounding buildings.
